Fanfare for Young Musicians
(→Trivia: Ah, apparently not exactly a "pop" show, actually more wide-ranging and multi-genre-iffic than I had previously realised.) |

Synopsis
To a certain extent, this can seen as ITV's answer to Young Musician of the Year, though this competition was for under-13s only. Unlike the BBC show, this one actually went out as part of children's programming, and allowed soloists, duos and groups to enter. There was also a broader range of musical styles, with singers competing against instrumentalists.
Trivia
It was apparently devised as a successor to the music-and-chat show Fanfare, hence the title.
