Take the Plunge
(Assuming the TV listings in copies of the Guardian from the period aren't wrong, there were ten episodes) |
(And again assuming these listings aren't wrong, Anglia and Central aired the show at noticeably different times to most other ITV regions. Ah, the days of regional variations...) |

A member of the public talks about something for fifteen seconds, heard only by the audience and members of the opposite team. The other team then sees the clip and tries to work out what they're talking about. The only snag is is that the opposing team can interfere with the film, by pressing their plunger they 'block out' and interfere with the tape. By doing this at the most opportune moments they should have no chance of guessing it! They could only interfere for a maximum of five seconds, though. | A member of the public talks about something for fifteen seconds, heard only by the audience and members of the opposite team. Synopsis
Very strange gameshow that might possibly be based on a round from the Spanish gameshow Sin Verguenza, which in turn was descended from the short-lived US show Blackout.
Trivia
In most ITV regions, the show aired on Wednesday evenings at 6:30pm. However, Anglia aired it on Thursday afternoons at 5:10pm, while Central waited until the following Tuesday to air it, also at 5:10pm.
