Biography
Born Liverpool in 1965, Simon O'Brien got his big break as Damon Grant in Brookside. He left the Channel 4 soap opera after five years, to present programmes - he fronted children's quiz I Can Do That, and played the lighthouse keeper in Fraggle Rock. Simon was a regular on the Def II strand, hosting football show Standing Room Only and the Rough Guide series.
He left showbiz in the mid-1990s, to set up a cycle centre-cum-cafe in Liverpool. An interest in sustainable property development brought him back to the small screen in the 2000s, hosting programmes about improving the existing housing stock.
