Malandra Burrows
Biography
Born in Liverpool in 1965, Burrows made her television debut on Junior Showtime at the age of six, and won an episode of New Faces three years later. Educated in Liverpool, where she achieved eleven O-levels, she had a number of small roles on Brookside before securing the part of Kathy Bates/Merrick/Tate/Glover/Humperdinck on Emmerdale Farm. Burrows remained with the soap until 2001. After Emmerdale, Burrows toured in the stage show Just Desserts, and appeared on various celebrity shows, including The All Star Talent Show and I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!.

Her given name, "Malandra", is a combination of her parents' names, Sandra and Malcolm.
