Monty Don
Biography
Monty (short for Montagu)'s first career was as a jeweller, but when his business went under he decided to make his hobby - gardening - into a career, and after writing his first book he was asked to become the resident gardening expert on This Morning. From there, he rose to become presenter of various gardening and horticulture-related programmes including Gardeners' World, which he's had two spells presenting, either side of a couple of years off while he recovered from a stroke in 2008. He is also president of the Soil Association.
