Poll of the Year 2014
There are some slight changes this year – we weren’t happy with the International category (although we still encourage you to tell us what we should be watching if we haven’t covered it already), and a slight change in eligibility criteria so that shows that had broadcast pilots in 2013 that went on to have full series in 2014, with everything learned from those pilots. This rule is unusual in that it rarely happens but seemed to happen to a few decently notable shows last year, we’ll be keeping an eye out and changing for next year as we see fit.
The Rules
There are four categories. For the first three you are given five votes for each category, and if you feel particularly strongly on a show you can give them a second vote out of your allotted five. The final category (best moments) is freestyle. Please write each vote separately on a new line. We are also interested in your comments – you are more likely to be used if you keep it brief. Revivals are considered new shows, a not necessarily exhaustive list can be found on UKGameshows.com (this should open in a new tab). You are not obliged to use all your votes. If you work for a production company you should mention it, we reserve the right to discount dodgy ballots.
The categories are:
- Hall of Fame – For the best new shows broadcast in the UK in 2014
- Hall of Shame – For the worst new shows broadcast in the UK in 2014
- The Golden Five – For any shows that had a new broadcast episode on UK television in 2014
- Your favourite moments. And if you have Youtube addresses that would be handy.
